The first autograph I obtained was in 1974. That of being Barry Manilow. I was visiting the United States for the summer from Israel and one late Saturday night I was watching Burt Sugarman's Midnight Special, hosted by the one and only Wolfman Jack. A young piano player named Barry Manilow came on and sang Could It Be Magic. For some reason this song not only mesmerized me, but moved me as well. Imagine that for a 16 year old kid. The next day I went to the nearest record store ( they actually sold vinyl albums then in stores) and I found that Barry had two albums out Barry Manilow and Barry Manilow Two. I took them home and played both albums and was just blown away by a song on the second album called Mandy. When I got back to Israel I was compelled to write to Mr. Manilow at his record label and tell him how his music moved me. I expected nothing, I didn't even know if he would get my letter...but he did. In his first letter he stated that he too felt compelled to respond to my letter being it was from his "first Israeli fan". Barry and I continued to correspond to each other for the next five years and we became friends. He would set me up with tickets when he was in town and we would get together after the show and briefly talk and reconnect. The last time that I heard from Barry was when I invited him to my first wedding in 1979. By that time he had become a major superstar and our relationship stopped. But it was that connection with him and his celebrity and the signatures that he had given me that started the fire inside of me for this (some people call obsession) passion of mine. To date I literally have thousands of signatures and pieces of memorabilia. It would be impossiple for me to photograph and upload every piece onto this website, but I will put on some pieces and will try to add new ones as I can. Please also understand that it is very expensive to custom frame these pieces so not everything that you will see will be framed yet. I hope you enjoy my collection as much as I do and if you have any questions about the pieces feel free to contact me via the contact page. Click on the image to enlarge the view.
